Before the Smoke
Very light tan and thin wrapper. No visible defects.
A smidge of pepper, spice on the lips. Notes of hay, earth and leather wrapped into one cold draw with the spice lingering on the palate.
A very mild spice kick started off the first third. A few puffs in, a very earthy note followed with a faint mix of cedar and leather.
The burn line was sharp but slanted just a little. Perhaps it was the wind? The draw was perfect. No issues what-so-ever.
Towards the end of the first third, a new note of sweet cream and cinnamon emerged.
The cigar stayed consistent, starting with a slight spice (at this point, no pepper), hay and earth still present, while the cinnamon & sweet cream finished each puff.
The sweet cream intensified as the cigar progressed. The notes of spice and hay slowly dissipated. Cedar, cinnamon and sweet cream made the last few puffs of the second third.
Retrohale- very interesting: the retrohale brought forth the pepper and spice, but ever so gentle (not a horseradish burn).
The burn line was even for the most part but had a few waves here and there.
The draw was as smooth as the first third. The smoke emitted was fantastic.
The final third was as smooth as the first two thirds of the cigar. The cedar, cinnamon, and sweet cream lead for a very pleasant finish of the cigar.
The burn line was not razor sharp, but not a problem either.
The smoke emitted was an excellent amount for such cigar length.
If we could sum up this cigar in one word, it would be “consistent”.
We’ve had several customers purchase this for golfing or outdoor adventures. There aren’t a lot of note changes but it remains the medium-bodied throughout.
A very smooth cigar from the first puff to the last!
While some might want more note changes or more robust notes, this is a wonderful cigar. It doesn’t matter if you are a novice or have been smoking for year, we are confident you will enjoy this cigar as we have.
