Before the Smoke
The stick had a nice oily wrapper, very veiny, and had a thick cap. The cigar itself was a bit soft (which ended up not being a problem at all).
On the cold draw , I picked up on a dense wood and cedar notes.
The first third was very interesting. It started packed with spice and white pepper, strong cedar and leather and a light creamy finish.
About halfway through, there was a kick of cocoa and creamy nuttiness to the finish.
During the second third, the cigar really opened up. The cocoa and nuttiness notes took the wheel and stepped on the gas pedal while the cedar and leather chilled in the back seat. The pepper and spice diminished.
The ash slid to the side a bit and fell off by the end of the second third. Each draw was very thick and chewy.
The final third was full of cocoa and nuttiness through and through. The leather and cedar died down a lot making the end a very nice and sweet finish. One of my favorite endings to a smoke!
- This was a very nice cigar! The burn was a bit uneven and wonky but other than that, I have absolutely no complaints.
- The notes were fantastic. I really enjoyed the shift from the first third to the second third and the full force of cocoa by the final third.
- This cigar would be perfect with coffee and make for a delicious breakfast cigar.
