Before the Smoke
The look: toothy, light leathery wrapper. No visible defects.
Leather and oak.
I wanted to add as I toasted the cigar, the aroma was delcious. It reminded me of toasted sugared almonds.
Leather and oak with a small hint of cream on the finish. The smoke from this was very heavy and chewy.
It had a razor sharp burn line and the draw was astounding.
Into the second third the the leather and oak are still present and the cream gets stronger and stronger as the cigar makes its way into the final third. Along with the cream, I made note of a sweetness that I couldn’t quite get my tongue around. buttermilk and almonds? vanilla almondmilk? Something to that affect.
Still a great burn line. Ash was long and light gray in color.
Ah ha! A few puffs into the final third as Doc Brown would say, “GREAT SCOTT!”
Wait for it… … … sweet and creamy toffee! Super delicious and creamy toffee goodness.
The leather is no longer present. Just hints here and there of oak blasted by a full on force of sweet and creamy toffee. All the way to the nub this taste lingered. The aroma between each puff was incredible!
The ash finished strong and stayed intact the entire final third.
- Well done, Pete III and Om Mani team! I’m excited to try the Habano next!
- This stick would make an amazing breakfast cigar complemeted with your favorite cup of coffee or an after dinner cigar.
- This would be a great cigar for beginner smokers given the mild manner. With that said, I smoke a lot of maduros and full bodied cigars and this was super delicious!
- This was the second Om Mani cigar I’ve reviewed and much like the first one, I really enjoyed the way this cigar was constructed.
This cigar is super unique but one aspect that really allows the Om Mani brand to stand out is the label. Each label has a unique & positive message inscribed in the inside. They aren’t just another boutique cigar company. It’s the owner, Pete III’s, personal goal to share these amazing cigars with the world and strive to truly make a positive impact in our lives.
