Before the Smoke
Beautiful toothy Connecticut wrapper with a very mild peppery-like taste to the lips.
The cold draw drew a nutty and woody taste to the pallet.
Right off the bat, the first notes were nutty, woody, & slight creamy. It lit very nicely and evenly. There was a very slight hint of peppery after taste but not very powerful–which I personally tend to love!
The nuttiness lingered. The draw stayed consistent and notes of vanilla and a sweet nutmeg crept in the pallet.
The final third was exhilarating. The creamy vanilla notes made their mark. The draw stayed smooth and creamy making the retrohale extremely pleasing. I got to a point toward the nub where I wish I had a nub holder so I could finish the nub. There aren’t many cigars I’ve smoked to which I can say that about them. The Connecticut wrapper stayed intact and had no visible tears, rips, or bumps.
This was an amazing smoke! It stayed consistent throughout. It had a nice, smooth, and flavorful draw with an extremely solid sweet vanilla finish.
I noticed early on there was a lack of smoke from the cigar when I was holding it. Some cigars seem to emit a ton of smoke when lit and in your hand. This one, however, was put together very nicely! I believe this is a testament to how well this stick was packed and rolled and the caliber of the Breña filler and Connecticut wrapper.
A big thank you to Marc Ripoll of KOLUMBUS Cigars for the sticks.
